Huxley engineering are currently helping a key client based in Shoreham by sea, with current requirements of Chief Engineers (Business Development).

My client is a leading global consultancy with a great client order book that

Includes the world's major transportation, OEM's, Energy companies and many more

These positions will be based in the Technical site within different departments.

As a Chief engineer your role will you will be primarily responsible for leading Vehicle and Hybrid/Electric Systems business development, proposal and project delivery activities - particularly in the area of Hybrid Vehicle Integration.

Your day to day to duties will include;

* Outstanding Project Delivery

* Compelling Project Proposals together that demonstrate the values to customers

* Meeting new customers and clients building relationships and developing new business opportunities and technical and commercials.

You will be accountable for, Understanding their client industries and their financial measurements, key players and competitors.

Defining new business streams for Vehicle, Hybrid and Electric Systems and developing associated selling strategies and supporting material through collaboration with the global team, other product groups, market sectors, commercial and engineering teams to develop and sell a portfolio of high value solutions.

Technical leadership of assigned Vehicle, Hybrid and Electric Systems projects by:

Defining technical resource requirements for successful project execution

Maximizing team performance using standard processes

Leading technical reviews

Draws on the wider technical expertise across the global organization to achieve optimal technical performance

Primary technical interface with client

Support development of Ricardo technology strategy and product offerings for Vehicle, Hybrid and Electric Systems business

You will be a degree qualified engineer with proven industry track record in conventional or hybrid and electric vehicle integration programmes.

As a Chief engineer you should have a strong technical knowledge of vehicle and Hybrid specialisation.

A strong track record of conventional, hybrid and/ or electric vehicle product development within the automotive industry, ideally leading to volume production

Proven skill in defining and preparing winning proposals, with the ability to develop strong, long-lasting customer relationships at senior level and profitable revenue streams

Strong leadership and ability to coordinate and lead multi-disciplined teams

Strong project management skills

Proven interpersonal and communication skills at all levels

High degree of flexibility and willingness to travel

Robust character with a strong drive and motivation to succeed

Great patience in dealing with client and team situations coupled with an ability to accept and positively respond to frequent changes

An ability to work under pressure and very tight timescales

An appreciation of and an ability to positively resolve issues arising from different cultures

High pro-activity to generate new ideas and promote business cases for patent application
