We are urgently seeking a Transition Manager to manage the implementation of new systems across a number of sites within the Defence Intelligence domain. The role is a key technical and management leadership position within the programme. Successful candidates are expected to take full ownership of the requirements capture and management, systems transition design and the sell-off and acceptance of transitioned elements.

You will be required to undergo a DV Clearance for this role. It is HIGHLY desirable that you currently hold an SC or DV Clearance however the client is willing to put candidates through process if necessary.

Responsibilities:

* Preparing the system transition documentation;

* Develop and gain approval for the transition strategy and plan;

* Plan and implement data migration strategies and plans for each system;

* Work alongside the integration teams to implement and test the transition plan in the form of scripts, new procedures and instructions;

* Rehearse the transition and data migration plans with the Users and gain acceptance from the customer;

* Resolve system and service transition and data migration defects;

* Ensure a smooth transition to live service interfacing with the Operational Support and Maintenance team and User representatives through the process;

* Create and manage the production of the ILS deliverables from the team;

* Manage the production of the training deliverables.

Requirements:

* Good experience of software and systems integration engineering principles;

* Solid grounding in the systems engineering lifecycle;

* Proven track record in managing the engineering of complex IT systems;

* Engineering Management experience

* Experience of managing within all areas of the systems engineering lifecycle;

* Knowledge and experience in planning, implementing and testing the transition of secure computer systems while maintaining system capability;

* Experience of database migration tools and methods;

* Knowledge in secure systems support and maintenance in order that the system can be transitioned into live service smoothly;

* Knowledge of the integration of computer hardware including networking in a secure environment;

* Track record of delivering work packages to cost, schedule and quality;

* Experience with working with customers, vendor suppliers

* Problem analysis and resolution;

* Willingness to work out of hours on occasion;

* Willingness to travel in the UK and overseas.

You will be required to hold a minimum of SC security clearance. If you do not hold an active SC clearance please familiarise yourself with the vetting process before applying
