This role reports to the Head of EW Antenna Engineering.You will provide technical expertise in the design and development of R.F. antenna solutions to unique and challenging problems. You will work closely within multidisciplinary teams to produce high integrity and high tech antenna system solutions. You will be self-motivated, able to take the initiative in customer discussions, be an effective team player and have efficient time management skills enabling you to work well in a team or on your own.

Candidates will have:

- Excellent numerate problem solving skills and aptitude for lateral thinking.

- Quick assimilator of complicated topics with strong communication skills to convey complex subjects to peers and junior members.

- Knowledge of any of the following CAE Tools is highly desirable: CST Microwave Studio, FEKO, HFSS, Agilent ADS.

Academic background:

Top academic background (1st / 2.1 from a leading university in a highly mathematical / engineering / science based subject, with mostly A's at A-level (or equivalent) and probably a PhD / Masters). Graduates will be supported in working towards Chartership in their chosen Institution if they so wish.

Job Role:

- The detailed design and development of antenna / radome & microwave components, systems and subsystems together with their associated electrical, mechanical and functional interfaces. In accordance with the Company Design Control Manual, the Company Safety Manual, the Product Safety Manual, the Quality Assurance Manual, and the Site Security Manual.

- The initial definition and subsequent controlled updating of both engineering design and test definitions, which should at all times be compatible with the appropriate system or subsystem requirement specification.

- The technical liaison and day to day control of component sub-contractors and component suppliers.

- The technical assessment of system or subsystem design to ensure compatibility with overall system performance.

- To investigate design options and where necessary and appropriate, make detailed proposals for preferred design solutions which are compatible with project design, timescale and cost objectives.

- The day to day control of manpower, resources and facilities associated with system and subsystem development including the timely identification of requirements for special test equipment.

- The effective monitoring, control and reporting of design activities in accordance with project and Company procedures including all necessary reporting of technical, financial and timescale progress and achievements.
