A key application platform at the organisation is a Java Hosting platform for WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat, Oracle Coherence and standalone Java Internet and intranet applications. Due to evolving business needs and increased market demands, the applications build on this platform are growing in size and flexibility, and the platform needs to similarly evolve in order to maintain reliability and performance.

Working as a Technical Specialist on the platform, you will be responsible for dealing with key clients, and will take an active role in the management and improvement of the Platform.

You will also work in a consulting capacity with new applications and applications migrating to the platform, interfacing with clients and other infrastructure team members to co-ordinate and plan migration activities. You will also play active role in planning and execution of major projects. You will also be working with Engineering teams on design, implementation and testing of new features for the platform.

Key Responsibilities:

*Incident management - subject matter expert role

*Change Management - raise change request, plan and execute it

*Problem management - troubleshooting and root cause analysis, known error establishment, and any request for change

*Knowledge and Documentation Management - Update platform documentation and knowledge articles

*Environment set up and support - Weblogic, JBoss, tomcat and Oracle coherence migration and management activities

*Major project planning and execution

*Advanced troubleshooting and Performance Tuning

*New Application on-boarding, design and environment set up

*Application tuning and troubleshooting

*Work on critical projects, e.g. Application migrations to deal with Operating System version or application server upgrades

*Co-ordinate with Application support, Application Developers and other infrastructure team on migration work

You will have:

*Java development knowledge

*Strong Java/application debugging/performance tuning skills

*Good Linux or UNIX knowledge

*Weblogic Server Administration knowledge (beneficial)

*Very good Tomcat knowledge (beneficial)

*JBoss Administration knowledge (beneficial)

*Apache Web server experience (beneficial)

*Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with relevant stake holders

*Excellent interpersonal skills and good team player

*Excellent troubleshooting/diagnostic skills
