Email Engineer (SMTP)

Globally renowned organisation based in Birmingham City Centre is looking for an experienced SMTP Email Engineer to join the time during an exciting period of transformation.

The Email Engineer will be joining the End User Computing group within the Chief Technology Office (CTO), which is responsible for the strategy and engineering of technology platforms that include email, mobility services, unified communications and voice services used across the company.

Key responsibilities:

*Architecture and design of SMTP email Backbone which includes; SMTP Internet gateways, Email Gateway anti-spam and anti-virus products, Email distribution list manager, Cyrus based IMAP service and SMIME email encryption gateways

*Managing stakeholder expectations and working with group IT Security, Internal Audit, Compliance and Governance.

*Drive projects related to; Process improvement, Proactive operational and infrastructure risk mitigation, IT Audit requirements, SDLC.

Skills and experienced required:

*Expert knowledge on SMTP and related protocols

*Expert knowledge on open source infrastructure software

*Expert knowledge on commercial email products

*Working knowledge on OpenSSL tool kit for Unix/Linux

*Familiarity with Unix/Linux Operating Systems

*Knowledge on Linux with Unix TCP/IP networking

*Good understanding of information security for infrastructure applications
