Risk and Control Manager - Cheshire - 80k

My client is a real giant in the financial services sector and is looking for a Dynamic individual to join their progressive team as a Risk and Control Officer.

Purpose of the role:-

*Provide assurance to Technology Leadership regarding relevant risks through a defined and agreed programme of assurance activity.

*Review activities by management to remediate control gaps and provide opinions as to whether the risks have been fully mitigated and whether controls are sustainable.

*Identify, evaluate, report and escalate risks in line with Barclays risk and control frameworks, utilising relevant tools and analytical techniques.

*Provide guidance to ensure compliance with Barclays Group and Technology Policies, Standards, frameworks and procedures across Business Units, Functions and Shared Services.

*Meet the needs of key internal and external risk processes, reporting schedules, stakeholders and regulatory authorities in delivering assurance activities.

Key accountabilities:-

*Define and agree a programme of assurance activity to validate the control environment for Technology

*Liaise with stakeholders

*Lead and manage a team to execute against the programme of assurance activity and deliver a clear conclusion regarding the design and operating effectiveness of the Technology

*Identify and leverage appropriate data sources and analytical techniques to deliver targeted assurance.

*Support the continued evolvement and embedding of the target operating model

*Influence and support the implementation of the Technology Risk strategy to drive global consistancy

*Maintain an independent perspective

*Set and proactively manage Stakeholder expectations

Person specification:-

*Extensive knowledge of technology risk and control including relevant tools and techniques

*Depth of knowledge of key areas in technology risk, including operations, change, security, resilience at both application and infrastructure layers etc.

*Extensive knowledge and experience in one or more of the following fields: IT audit, Risk and Control, IT security

*Understanding of the company goals, direction and strategy and how risk in Technology has an impact on the wider organisation

*Good knowledge of the Financial Services regulatory environment.

*CRISC, CISM, CISA, CCSP
