Salary: Up to 65,000 Per Annum + Pension

Client is an insurance and dispute resolution law firm based in the United Kingdom and Ireland, they provides legal services in 50 areas of law, grouped into eleven key market sectors: brokers, construction and property, general insurance, healthcare, leisure and hospitality, Lloyds and London market, manufacturing, public sector, retail, TMT and transport and logistics.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a key member of the IT team the Data Architect is responsible for all aspects of the firms data strategy, including the definition of data governance and the design and management of the overall MDM (Master Data Management) initiative. By the production, publication and control of integrated data model the Data Architect will:
Improve confidence in the firms data quality, which in turn will result in overall productivity gains in all areas of the business;
Help business people from across the firm to describe their data requirements in a consistent and simplified way;
Improve client service by providing a simplified approach to client specific data requirements, enabling faster and more consistent MI provisioning and by working with the client teams to define data exchange standards and methodologies;
Improve Development and systems efficiency by defining a clear model of the firms data and the interaction between each system, identifying and prioritising areas that can be consolidated, reducing data duplication and avoiding re-work;
The Data Architect will be responsible for all aspects of the data strategy for the firm, including data management, definition of data governance and defining the MDM policy and design;
Define the vision, strategy and principles for data managements within the firm;
Define standards for naming, cleansing, enriching, transforming, moving, storing, searching and delivering all data within the firm;
Serve as a liaison between the data consumer representatives and data solution development, integration and governance teams;
Inform and interpret on behalf of data project sponsors;
Responsible for the development of a Master Data Management strategy and liaising with applications architecture to inform the implementation of the strategy;
Must understand how data is, or will be, used and the implications on people, process, products and technologies;
Some line management responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Skills Required
Microsoft SQL, preferably qualified to MCSA level or above;
SSIS, SSRS, JQuery, JSON, REST and SOAP;
Open Source, Big Data, Hadoop;
Understanding of the legal data and application situation and the integration implications of a discrete application landscape;
Understanding of workflow business processes and how data interacts within the processes;
Understanding the data security implications for compliance with data protection, SRA and customer specific requirements;
Desirable Skills
Data requirement for multi-platform environments and mobile devices;
Understanding and experience of Agile (Scrum, XP) development methodologies including TDD/BDD;
Good understanding of the Legal industry;
Has a good understanding and experience of working in an agile environment;
Familiar with the IntApp Integration toolset;
BPM, BPMN;
