Job Description - Cloud based Infrastructure Engineer

Department: Information Technology

Reports To: Infrastructure Manager

Scope of Job

This role will be a cross between BAU and projects (more towards projects). You will be involved in 3 business major projects this year , with a look to being part of several smaller departmental ones also

You will be working mainly within a Windows/VM Ware environment, Storage (HP), and there is a Small Cisco environment also. The ideal candidate will have experience with SharePoint/CRM Dynamics/SQL, as well as have some form of cloud experience

(Microsoft Azure, or CRM dynamics experience on the cloud is highly advantageous or if you have the full Office 365 stack knowledge)

As part of the Infrastructure Team, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining all aspects of the Information Technology Infrastructure, to ensure consistent and repeatable services through the application of common processes and procedures.

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities

- Support the design; development and operation of the Capacity, Availability(Security), IT Continuity and Problem Management processes for the Network, Database and System Infrastructure

- Maintain Configuration information relevant to network (LAN, WAN, VPN), server and database infrastructure

- Keep the Service Support team informed of license provision to enable them to maintain the consolidated license record document

- Budgetary approval and able to order goods or services from existing suppliers to a value defined by the Director of IT and the internal financial policy

- Ensure effective release procedures for changes to network (LAN, WAN, VPN), server and database infrastructure

Person Specification

Essential

- A high standard of interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to handle confidential information

- Demonstrable competency to manage relationships with key stakeholders and a strong customer service focus

- Support the design; development and operation of the Capacity, Availability(Security), IT Continuity and Problem Management processes for the Network, Database and System Infrastructure

- Set up/ build, understand the structure and limitations of and problem solve within a SharePoint or CRM Dynamics environment.

- A relevant industry qualification or equivalent experience in Microsoft Windows Server environment administration

- A relevant industry qualification or equivalent experience in designing and implementing cloud based solutions using MS Azure, SharePoint or CRM Dynamics.

Desirable

- Qualified in ITIL to foundation level

- A relevant industry qualification or equivalent experience of supporting Firewalls and a switched Ethernet network infrastructure

- A relevant industry qualification or equivalent experience in Unix (Solaris) administration

- A relevant industry qualification or equivalent experience in database (Oracle and MS-SQL Server) administration
