Java Developer / Backend Web Developer (Java 8 Web API HTTP JVM Cloud AWS). Global media giant is seeking a passionate technologist to join a start-up sports data technology division within the firm. As part of an elite development team you will design and develop backend functionality for a highly complex sports data and live streaming platform.

Most of the work is Greenfield development to white label their technology; as a senior Java Developer you will take ownership of complex and interesting technical projects, delivering live data with extremely low latency through to a global client base including betting companies and major broadcasters. The technology stack is based on Java and JVM technologies (Hazelcast, Guava, Jackson, Logback) deploying to the cloud (AWS and Google App Engine) using Continuous Integration techniques.

You'll be working in a collaborative, technology driven environment - making technology decisions and contributing to product strategy. New offices based in West London with a bright and spacious working environment and outside space used for meetings / breakouts.

Requirements:

*Passion for technology with an "engineering mindset" - strong analysis and problem solving abilities

*Strong core Java backend development experience

*Web API design skills and a good knowledge of HTTP

*Full lifecycle development experience with a good knowledge of software architecture

*Ability to take a lead role

*Excellent communication skills, collaborative team player
