3rd Line Systems Administrator - the opportunity
This is a really exciting opportunity to join a leading provider of managed IT & telecoms services, working on a major customer assignment in the Government sector. You'll be working with tech from Cisco, Juniper, VMWare, Veeam, Microsoft and others.

You will be based on a secure site and the nature of the role will mean you'll need to be eligible for SC-level security clearance. If you're already cleared, then that's an advantage.

This is a challenging role, providing systems administration expertise across a range of IT and network infrastructure. There's plenty of variety and responsibility: the role acts as an escalation point and includes recommending improvements to processes alongside the usual elements of installation and troubleshooting infrastructure and software.

The role is on-site 5 days per week and there's a shift rota: 8am-4pm, 9-5, 10-6.

3rd Line Systems Administrator - responsibilities
Provision of end-user escalation support across hardware, software and anti-virus
Lead, co-ordinate and provide support for escalations from the Level 2 team
Problem Management: fault analysis and predictive failure calculations
Maintain patching and upgrade plans
Maintain accurate documentation for escalations and outcomes
Identify process optimisations to enhance the customer experience

3rd Line Systems Administrator - requirements
Strong Systems Admin or L3 Tech Support experience in an ITIL environment
Good understanding of virtualisation, especially VMWare
Experience with backups - ideally Veeam
Strong general Windows skills including Powershell
Good networking skills including LAN/WAN, VLAN, MPLS
Relevant certifications, e.g. CCNA, JNCIA, ITIL, would be beneficial
Experience of working in the Defence sector would be beneficial
Eligibility for SC clearance is essential.
