Application Support / Technical Support / DevOps Engineer - Linux/Mac

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Application Support / DevOps Engineer, with experience of Mac and Linux operating systems, to join an exciting and rapidly growing software company based near Slough. Due to continued success, we are looking for Application Support / Technical Specialist - Linux/Mac to provide exceptional service to a high profile customer base, working with a range of cutting edge technologies in a forward thinking and dynamic organisation.

About the role:

The Application Support / DevOps Engineer must have a strong technical background in technical support and strong troubleshooting skills. You will be involved in:

- decoding technical software output and installation logs

- SQL database investigation

- troubleshooting, bug reporting

- customising software tools and getting involved in testing newly developed software.

- support and administration of both Linux and Mac environments

The software is deployed in to Linux, MAC and Windows environments and you will ideally have experience with all OS.

The successful Application Support / DevOps Engineer candidate will ideally have a sound understanding of SQL Server and general Linux and MAC Infrastructure environments. It would be desirable to have experience of SQL troubleshooting, any experience or understanding of SSRS / report building / T-SQL would be a distinct advantage. As would programming / scripting experience with Bash, Shell, Perl or any similar language.

Above all, the Application Support / DevOps Engineer will be a great communicator, keen technologist and a hunger to learn new skills and develop their career. You should have a passion for delivering excellent service to a range of customers and providing great software / application support.
