The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is a division within the Ministry of Defence that has responsibility for the management of property services to ensure strategic management of the Defence Estate as a whole, optimising investment and critically supporting military capability to the best effect.

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) area within DIO Head Office is responsible for the delivery, management and assurance of all IT/IS strategies, policies, standards and services that are applicable to the DIO. CIPO has four key pillars; Requirements and Customer Service Team, Design and Transition Team, Delivery and Operations Team and Security and Assurance Team.

The DIO Availability & Resilience Support Assistant Manager role is accountable for ensuring their team adhere to and conform with all agreed DIO TLB processes and operating procedures, and particularly those which are detailed under the key infrastructure process for:

- Perform Service Operations

- Define and Design or Amend Service

- Manage Service Integration and Transition

- Decommission Service(s)

Main duties of the role include:

- Manage individuals to contribute to business outputs

- Develop staff and support line manager in delivering departmental goals

- Promote strong working relationships both within the team and with other teams across DIO and MoD

- Support the installation of software updates and security patches

- Support the installation, configuration and maintenance of DIO virtualised Test Environment for IMS & retained applications including Active directory and infrastrcuture mangement.

- Capture and install application images when requested

- Install software updates and security patches for all change environments.

- Support the installation, configuration and maintenance of DIO virtualised Development and Test environment for IMS & retained applications

- Support the installation, configuration and maintenance of the DIO Application Integration environment for IMS & retained applications.

- Support the replication of applications from live to DR

- Provide support to the installation, configuration and maintenance of retained DIO Application SQL databases

- Provide support to the investigation & resolution of SQL database incidents to agreed SLA targets.

- Provide support to the installation & testing of SQL software updates and security patches

It is desirable that the successful applicant will have ITIL V3 at Foundation level.
