A Lead Windows Server Administrator.

Based at Head Office

Salary from £40,721 to £52,032 depending on skills and experience plus excellent benefits.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our technical infrastructure team, where you will provide project and production support for Windows based systems. You also will be challenged to, lead a team of up to 5 people, solve technical and non- technical problems, and proactively improve these systems and the applications running on them.

Who we're looking for

As a minimum requirement you'll have experience working on:

- Windows Server 2008/2012

- Powershell

- IIS and Web services

- Troubleshooting and fault diagnostics

- Technical design

- Team Leader or Work stream leader

You will have excellent communication skills, and have the ability to manage stakeholders and their expectations. You will have had experience of managing technical teams ideally work stream and line management. You will be dealing with incidents and leading investigations, and be able to articulate risks and issues. You will be self-motivated and ready to take on a key system responsibility within the team. You will have mentored junior staff to build technical and technology related business skills. You will have worked in large organisations that follow ITIL best practice and carefully follow a methodical, controlled, governed approach to project and system management.

Experience working on following would be useful but not essential:

- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP

- Active Directory

- Biztalk

- Windows Security

- Websphere - MQ

- Windows Clustering

- PKI

- MS SQL

- CyberArk

Foundation knowledge of ITIL and working in large financial organisations would be desirable.

What you'll be doing

You will be leading a small team as part of the Infrastructure Services team, in a large IT department located in Swindon. You and your team will manage Windows servers through their lifecycle, from design, build, software deployment, pre-production test, and production support. The servers will be running: Nationwide's Web Services, Payments, Security and Workflow software and you will engage application and development teams. You will have a key role in designing and implementing new infrastructure for projects and production. You will mentor and guide junior staff technically and you will be the first point of contact for technical and line management escalation.
