Principal Systems Engineer - RF Systems
This is an immediate requirement for a Principal Systems Engineer or Lead Systems Engineer with RF Design experience.
A great opportunity has arisen for a Principal Systems Engineer to work for a leading communication design company based in the Tewkesbury area. This Principal Systems Engineer will be working on a number of new EW and Communication systems currently being developed for use in the home and international markets. Your role will be to take technical leadership of a specific product range and cover its lifecycle from bid through to delivery.
Although based in Tewkesbury, this role is commutable from Cheltenham, Gloucester, Worcester and Oxford

JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities for this Principal Systems Engineer role
- Leading system engineering aspects of development on communications and Electronic Warfare tenders and projects, typically worth £1-15m.
- Ensuring that systems engineering processes are employed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Providing technical input to project estimating and controlling processes.
- Providing overall technical leadership of multi-disciplined engineering team(s).
- Requirements management of the technical aspects of the project.
- Managing technical aspects of sub-contractor relationships.
- Leading bid preparation.
Requirements for this Principal Systems Engineer role
- 10+ year's experience in industry, with 3+ year's experience in a systems engineering role working on complex defence related projects.
- Totally conversant in the specification of receivers, transmitters, signal processing and high level software as applied to equipment and systems in the DC - 6GHz frequency range.
- A technical specialist in V/UHF RF based military systems.
- Good interpersonal skills to allow effective leadership of technical staff, internal support departments and customers.
- Practical knowledge of requirements management including experience of working with stakeholders (internal and external) to elicit, analyse and negotiate requirements.
- Proven ability to lead design reviews internally, with sub-contractors and with Customers.
- Experience in requirements management and the application of Validation and Verification traceability.
- The ability to multi-task across several projects.
