We are looking for an experienced Java backend developer to join our rapidly expanding London-based company, get up-to-speed quickly and work on both back-end and user-facing aspects of our next-generation healthcare systems. You will be able to work independently but also integrate well with the existing high quality team, and sometimes work directly with clinical users to understand and refine their requirements.
This role involves primarily working with Deontics inference and workflow technology used for modelling clinical pathways and clinical decision support applications that are accessible either as web (RESTful) services or via web user interfaces. You will initially be helping to expand those services and the databases behind them, develop custom connectors for integration, security components etc. As you gain experience with our technology stack you will have the opportunity to participate in the design and building of new generation products. You will also be encouraged to get deeper into the core logic components and, if it is an area you are interested in, contribute to their development as well.
Summary:
- Experienced Java Web/J2EE developer.
- Salary: £35K to £45K.
- Location: London.
- Start Date: ASAP.
Required experience/skills:
- Excellent core Java.
- Excellent server side Java (J2EE, tomcat).
- Good understanding of MVC (Spring MVC or Struts).
- Javascript, AJAX, RESTful.
- Good understanding of concurrency and multithreaded programing.
- JDBC and database programming (NoSQL experience would be a bonus).
- Competence with git and subversion is required, with maven is desired.
Desirable experience/skills:
- Experience in medical informatics and healthcare IT standards and or systems.
- Direct interaction with users, experience of user requirements gathering and iterative development.
- Familiarity with Linux system administration.
