12 month fixed term appointment (with the possibility of a 12 month extension)

HMIC is an independent body that inspects and reports on police forces and other law enforcement agencies, helping the public to hold them to account for their performance. Our reports attract national media attention. Recently we have reported on the reliability of crime data and police integrity and corruption, and published our first all-force PEEL inspection online. Currently, we are inspecting honour-based violence and the use of stop and search powers. Clearly, it’s important to get our facts right.

We are looking for an experienced analysis manager to form part of our Performance, Analysis and Research Team, a group of specialists and generalists with a wide range of public and private sector experience. This is an outstanding opportunity to use your skills in a genuinely worthwhile role, helping to ensure that HMIC’s judgments are built on a strong evidential foundation. Your work will have a direct impact on policing.

The ideal candidate will have a customer focused approach to delivering analytical products, and will be willing to take the time to provide sound advice to inspection leads. You will need to lead a team of staff completing analysis, quality assuring their work and helping them to represent their findings in a way the public can easily understand.

Analysis managers support several projects simultaneously, and need a proactive attitude, strong organisational skills, and the ability to supervise a team effectively under pressure when there are competing priorities.

If this sounds like you, and you have a numerate degree and relevant analytical experience in the workplace. Please visit our website for further information on the role and how to apply.
