British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is one of the world’s leading environmental research centres and is responsible for the UK’s national scientific activities in the Antarctic. As part of the National Environment Research Council we undertake world-class scientific research and help the UK maintain an active and influential regional presence.
We are currently planning a significant development project with a budget for works in the region of £40m and we’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to support this. The work will include building upgrades, new warehousing facilities, jetties, fuel storage systems and the provision of new scientific equipment to support a new ship that is being commissioned. This is a fascinating project based in a difficult environment and requires a Project Manager with experience of working in extreme conditions and effectively completing complex projects of this nature.
This is a four year contract with regular visits to the Antarctic.
