Head of Data Privacy - Bulge Bracket Bank

This highly respected banking group is offering the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the formation of their privacy policy and in the process gain exposure to board level stakeholder management. Due to the strategic importance of this hire they are offering an above average bonus and package, you will also have the opportunity to take advantage of a clearly defined route into management.

As Head of Data Privacy in the London office, you will be defining the privacy engagement model, designing controls and implementing the privacy policy and framework for a variety of shared functions which include Operations and Technology, Information Security, Sourcing, Information Risk Management and Facilities Management.

Responsibilities:

You will be partnering with the global shared functions to implement the privacy operating model, design governance mechanisms such as privacy impact assessments, maturity reviews and conformance testing; and agree on a privacy governance model. In doing so, you will be implementing controls and developing processes to manage privacy and conduct risk; whilst contributing to governance and reporting requirements. You will be developing solutions for the oversight of compliance with data transfer requirements and providing advice on privacy issues that arise on group-wide programmes involving major IT change.

Requirements:

The firm is seeking an accomplished senior professional who understands data privacy issues as they relate to Information Technology, who has worked for a large International organisation and brings considerable experience with EU model clauses and complying with data transfer agreements across multiple jurisdictions. It would be desirable for this person to have Professional Privacy Certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (e.g. CIPP IT/E/G) or equivalent such as ISEB; and have experience handling data privacy obligations and requirements in the context of suppliers and third parties.
