Helpdesk Engineer – 1st / 2nd Line

Our client provides outsourced IT support services to businesses throughout the UK. They are now looking for a Helpdesk Engineer to join their ambitious team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated helpdesk support professional looking to undertake a diverse and challenging role within a forward-thinking and steadily growing company.

As a Helpdesk Engineer, you will be responsible for handling a wide range of technical support calls and providing a first class standard of customer service.

Specifically, you’ll troubleshoot laptops, hardware and software, Windows Servers and MS Exchange. You’ll also undertake network and server administration duties, create and update user and system documentation and ensure that all technical issues are resolved in an efficient and effective manner.

Whilst primarily office based, as part of your role, you may be required to undertake occasional travel to customer sites.

To be considered for this role, you must have previous helpdesk experience with the ability to handle multiple requests. It is also essential that you have an understanding of the following:

- MS Windows Server 2003 or 2008

- MS Exchange 2003, 2007 or 2010

- MS Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7

- Servers including HP and Dell

- TCP/IP

- SSL certificates and DNS records

As a Helpdesk Engineer, you must have excellent communication and customer service skills with an eye for detail. The ability to manage your time effectively and handle a wide variety of tasks is also essential.
