Project Manager - Prince 2 - Bespoke Application development - South Wales - Cardiff

My client has an urgent contract opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join an existing project team delivering development, customisation and maintenance of a bespoke client facing application. The successful Project manager will need a demonstrable background of excellent project leadership with Prince 2 methodologies and be responsible for the management and direction of projects, involving multidisciplinary teams and 3rd party resources, including management of stakeholder interfaces.

The Project Manager will work closely with the Application Centre Managers to ensure Customers' needs are fully met in terms of any quality/ functional trade offs against time/cost. They review and influence project progress, ensuring that this is compatible with the business and commercial needs of all stakeholders. Reporting to a Programme Manager, the role covers provision of day to day support to the project team members, application and development of the PM Framework and delivery of Customer Satisfaction.

Essnetial Skills and experience

Demonstrable Successful Project Management experience

Experience of relevant project management methodologies

Ideally have previous experience of leading bespoke application projects

Posses excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders, senior management and work closely with 3rd party suppliers

Strong team building skills and the ability to lead and influence others

Experience in developing, implementing and managing the application of project management procedures - progress reporting; creating, holding and maintaining project plans; 'walking the job'.

Flexibilty to travel to other European office locations - language skills a bonus

A strong grasp of technology and developments within the IT sector

Experience within the financial services advantageous but not essential
