Job Purpose

* Provide the primary focal point of Engineering support for a single or multiple engineering equipment or technical service on the assigned solution.

*

* Liaise with suppliers and ensure that the system is designed and delivered in a coherent way across the whole solution.

*

* Support the Solution Lead to ensure that any tower systems are delivered at the right time.

*

* Define, lead, direct and approve, or support, all Engineering activities on the Solution.

*

* Lead/ support the elicitation of user requirements/ high level requirements for system changes.

*

* Provide system engineering support for the design and development of the assigned system/asset and the environment within which it is deployed (i.e. People, Procedures and Equipment) which together comprise the Marshall Tower Solution

*

* Provide all required support to Solution/ delivery acceptance processes such as support to phase/ baseline reviews and transition of solutions Lead/.

*

* During site transition provide technical expertise to the site teams in supporting the rapid analysis and diagnosing system deficiencies.

*

* Provide support to assist the development, implementation and acceptance of the solution, including support as required to phase and baseline reviews, support to systems design and critical design reviews.

*

* Applicant shall be highly motivated in the discharge of responsibilities and accountabilities, be an effective communicator and provide leadership to those providing support/ deliverables.

*

* Applicant shall be accountable/ responsible for delivering the following: High Level design documents (HLD's). Site specific low level designs. Interface Control Documents (ICD's), Interface description Documents (IDD's) and Early integration test reports.

*

* Applicants shall be responsible for supporting other departments in the production of test and acceptance documentation, safety case documents, installation site design packs and site acceptance packs.

*

* Applicants will also carry out other non-specific engineering related tasks as directed by the relevant solution leads.

*

QUALIFICATIONS, PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

* The applicant is expected to hold, as a minimum, an HNC (or an equivalent qualification) in an Engineering related discipline and have relevant engineering experience.

*

* Relevant experience of high-integrity real-time systems within large scale, multi-disciplined projects and practical experience of systems engineering testing and integration, with broad experience of one or more ATC systems and general knowledge of ATM Architecture.

*

* Proven ability to communicate in a clear and precise manner, and be able to work proactively, within a defined framework, with a minimum of direct supervision. A proactive approach is essential.

*

* Must have effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to present information accurately and succinctly to customers and suppliers who may not have the same level of operational engineering understanding.

*

* General ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative and possess effective judgement skills in order to maintain operational services in a safety critical environment.

*

* Must be the holder of a full UK driving licence.

*

* Possess commercial awareness in order to appreciate what impact a facility failure would have on our customers and possess a good understanding of internal relationships and dependencies on the ATM engineering systems which they are responsible for.
