This company is looking for an IT Support Desk 1st Level Engineer to provide 1st line support for a multinational company assisting users in the UK, Europe & America, ensuring support calls are logged using helpdesk software and responded to accordingly.

Tasks and Responsibility

- Provide 1st line PC and Telephony hardware and software support.

- Ensure all incoming calls are logged and dealt with competently.

- Provide and update feedback to users as their calls are progressed by the various I.T teams.

- Monitor call queues ensuring calls are progressed, tracked, escalated and closed.

- Action change requests under supervision in line with the change processes.

- Work under supervision on-sites delivering IT services, support and deployments

- Record all activity in Help Desk system.

- Respond to all tasks, issues and change requests assigned through Help Desk system.

- Produce and publish documentation

- Undertake training and research to maintain knowledge of current technology and systems.

- Liaise with 2nd Level Support and ERP Systems teams.

Knowledge / Skillset

- Good understanding of PC Hardware

- Good understanding of Local Area Networking

- Able to use internet and searches effectively

- Knowledge Microsoft Windows up to latest versions

- Knowledge Microsoft Office up to latest versions

- Good verbal and written communications skills

- Pro-active approach to work

- Positive attitude and willingness to learn

- Principles of TCP/IP Networking.

- Understanding of Microsoft Networking Technology, Active Directory, Windows Server, etc

- Preferably with Full Driving License and own transport

Qualifications Requires

- 5 GCSEs grade A - C including Maths, English and ICT

- Any I.T related qualifications desirable but not essential

Special Terms and Conditions

Some traveling will be required for team / department meetings and on site working.
