Test Environment Manager

A Test Environment Manager is urgently required for a a six month contract with a Consultancy for a Public Sector company in Croydon.

Job Description:

* Define/document environment strategy for best utilisation of current test environments including number of internal and external environments.

* Understand the limitations and availability of each current environment and the risk it carries.

* Define process for effective utilisation of environments giving a view of each environment and dependencies.

* Define process to allocate release or testing for each environment based on release requirement and environment capability.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop the Environment Management process on how to manage and book test environments required for end to end testing, taking into account Agile and Waterfall deliveries.

* Develop KPIs to track efficacy of test environment delivery efforts.

* Liaise with and coordinate between projects to understand the test environment requirements.

* Identify and agree with the (appropriate) test manager the suitable environment(s) for testing releases.

* Coordinate activities to ensure the setup and configuration of test environments are delivered in accordance to the test/project plans.

* Track releases, upgrades and changes to the development and test environments.

* Review and communicate changes to the environment to key stakeholders regarding outages, maintenance and refresh dates and facilitate conflict resolution.

* Record and manage any test environment defects through to resolution, in collaboration with Test Managers and/or Defect Managers.

* Manage and communicate any environmental risks and issues.

* Conduct trend analysis on environmental issues, to continually improve the process; as well as looking to where automation can be practically implemented.

Technology:

* Proven End User Device testing experience using technologies - System Center Configuration Manager, Adaptiva, Direct Access, Citrix, Captive Portal, Active Directory, Identity Access Management

* Practical experience of Infrastructure elements e.g. Data Centers, Network components, Firewalls, Servers and Cloud based services (AWS and Azure)

* Experience in testing of Windows Desktop Rollouts and Office365 implementations (including Microsoft exchange migrations)

* Practical experience implementing and/or using environments using Virtualization

* Experience in Mobile Device testing

* Technical experience of testing networks (i.e. routers, switches, gateways, voice, video)
