Senior Java Developer (Java, Linux, GDPR)

My market-leading client based in Central London are currently recruiting for a Senior Java Developer to join their Data Technology and operations team on an interim basis. The team are currently focusing on building a GDPR compliant solution to:
* Monitor what users access and query on data base servers (via audit logs)
* Allow for records management keeping
* Support business operations around data protection processes
The Senior Java Developer will run a project to build the environment liaising with Architects and Linux teams.
The focus will be on developing, updating and extending the scope of the SMART application to new data sources required by GDPR compliance (General Data Protection Regulation).
This will be a standalone role reporting into the Infrastructure Assurance Manager and working alongside one other SAS Developer.
* The system needs to designed (working with the project designer) to be both horizontal and vertically scalable
* You will develop Java applications to run on Linux platforms.
* Use 3rd party java SQL parser library code
* Log file parsing from Data Base audit logs using JDBC
* Will be required to complete documentation and work on the governance
Essential skills, technologies and experience
* 5+ experience in a similar role
* Java v 1.8 and above
* Experience of developing Multi-threaded coding ( both vertical and horizontal)
* Strong expertise developing java applications to run on Linux platforms
* Linux environment (Red Hat)
* JDBC (SQL integration, performance tuning for JDBC )
* Basic Knowledge of SQL (eg setting up performance improvements for JDBC - Java Database Connectivity)
* External library integration (a JAVA library )
* Setting up Dev, Test and production environments
* Independent worker
* Basic knowledge of firewall concepts
