Job Purpose

* Ensure the availability, quality and efficiency of core and critical enabling IT Infrastructure services

* Develop a fully detailed documented reference infrastructure architecture and roadmap across industry recognised capabilities based on a "strategic vendor and sourcing" approach

* Lead an aggressive change programme across the portfolio delivering the adoption of redeveloped and new services

* Lead the team bringing a broad service understanding with focus on proactive monitoring and methodical delivery and releasing business and clinical value from adoption and use of technology

* Manage the IT Infrastructure and operational processes with management accountability and responsibility across the entire IT Function

* Take management responsibility as part of the IT Senior Team, providing leadership, recognising and developing the teams, supervisors and managers, mentoring, coaching and training them to utilise the strengths to enhance the departments' performance and build organisational capability

Essential Skills include:

* Significant experience of working within a large scale and complex infrastructure management structure including development of architecture and roadmaps

* Strong interpersonal skills & able to develop and maintain effective and credible relationships with business leaders and supplier management

* Knowledge of Service and Infrastructure Management standards (such as ISO20000)

Excellent working knowledge and experience of implementing standards and controls e.g. ISO20000

* Management experience of ITIL disciplines

* Knowledge of IT concepts and systems

Knowledge of contracting trends, licensing models, and traditional and emerging contract and vendor performance models

* Deep market knowledge of IT and Healthcare Technologies

* Experience of working in an IT service provider

* Strong project and process management skills, with the ability to handle multiple vendors and multiple contracts, as well as a wide range of tasks

* Knowledge of best practices for IT contract negotiation tactics and strategies

* Financial or Budgetary responsibilities - Previously responsible for a budget, involved in budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes

* Bridge communications between the IT and business organisations, with a focus on developing an understanding of how to structure contracts to deliver against business needs and goals

* Expertise of co-ordinating IT and business resources to meet specific business objectives whilst maintaining the principles of professional standards, accountability, openness, equality and diversity and clarity of purpose. Proven aptitude in managing an IT service, ensuring that agreed service levels are met and all relevant procedures are adhered to.

* Proven expertise in the delivery and management of Infrastructure functions. Must be able to effectively provide subject matter expertise and well informed advice across a range of stakeholders, taking steps to ensure that it is properly understood and appropriately exploited, to enhance the effectiveness of significant activities

* Proven expertise of applying structured techniques to problem solving and utilising appropriate toolsets to achieve the desired outcomes. Proven experience of identifying trends and relationships between data sets and identifying correct data and inputs to support problem solving. Capacity to understand the root causes of service design problems and to generate a range of solutions and courses of action with benefits

* Strong ability to communicate with IT users, legal and procurement staff, and business leaders to craft service levels that align complex needs with requirements to achieve business outcomes
