Embedded Software Engineer - Wokingham - £45,000 (Flexible)

I have been instructed by our key client to source an Embedded Software Engineer for their site in Wokingham. The business is going through a really exciting time, with plans for huge growth in the UK, and moving into fantastic new offices very soon.

The company designs commercial tracking systems, with a global reach. They are now seen as world leaders in their field, and as demand for their products continue to rise, they are beginning to ramp up the R&D team in the UK.

How do the day to day activities look?

* To write, test and maintain computer programs and associated documentation to specifications agreed with the Technical Director / Development Manager.

* The position will be almost solely focussed on C++ embedded software development, as well as come application development on a range of platforms.

* You will be expected to be involved with tasks relating to image processing, optics and deep learning. Prior experience in this is highly desirable.

* To liaise with clients, business partners and others in the development and deployment of programs.

* To undertake ancillary tasks associated with the development, deployment and marketing of products and systems. Demonstration, technical support and commissioning of programs and systems at client and business partner sites.

Key Skills:

* 3-5 years' experience with C++ in an embedded environment.

* 2+ years' experience with Linux development, preferable on an embedded platform.

* Some experience of OpenCV, STL, Boost.

Desirable Skills:

* Some Qt and/or web user interface development experience.

* Unit testing and working in an Agile environment.

* SQL.

* Some Windows development experience.

It's important you have an interest in embedded systems, image processing & deep learning as this will be a huge part of the position.
