GIS Solution Architect/ Designer ( ESRI )

My client is looking for a GIS Solution Architect / Designer with ESRI product experience to be based in London, Heathrow on an initial 6 month contract.

Deliverables of the role:

Reporting to the Lead Solution Architect, your role will be to design GIS solutions and enterprise integrations that meet client requirements. You will work collaboratively, in a team, both taking responsibility for certain components of the solution, as well as contributing to wider discussions on architecture and design. You should be an expert in the ArcGIS Platform, having been involved in a major design project at ArcGIS Version 10.4 or above. You will have kept abreast of developments in the ArcGIS Platform and will be able to demonstrate strong awareness of the direction of travel of ArcGIS Solution development. Solution components are likely to include:

- GIS component of a Common Data Environment (along BIM principles)

- Ingestion of CAD data for performant 2D (/3D) display

- Geodatabase design (focused on geometric networks for utilities)

- Integration with a complex legacy GIS system

- Design of a custom mobile app to support mobile engineers on asset maintenance

- Deployment of a real time map showing vehicle positions

You will be able to work in an environment that is under change and demonstrates many moving parts, and to employ maturity in dealing with uncertainty during the development of your designs.

Skills / Experience Required

You will be able to describe your role and responsibilities in the architecture or design of a medium to large scale enterprise deployment of the ArcGIS Platform at 10.4 or above. You will show an in-depth understanding of the components of a resilient server deployment, and of key considerations in design. You will have kept abreast with product developments and be able to describe with clarity the various ways in which ArcGIS can be integrated into a wider IT enterprise. You will have experience of configuring or customising the platform to meet specific requirements, and will be able to defend these in the face of critical appraisal.

Deep skills in the following areas will be highly desirable:

- Cross-platform mobile development and design using ArcGIS

- Web App Builder

- GeoEvent Server, and the development of Connectors

- Geodatabase design, in particular with reference to utility networks

- 3D data management and integration with CAD systems / BIM environments

- Safe Software FME

- ArcGIS Online

- Configuration of Portal / Server and integration with Active Directory

- Azure Cloud architecture and deployment

Evidence of high grades (As/Bs) at A Level or equivalent in mathematical or scientific subjects will greatly strengthen your application.
