The Data Tribe's focus is to identify key events throughout the business including those around customer behaviour, staff behaviour, third party supplier performance and any other areas of business that influence our success. This data is used to collect metrics around those events and use the results to perform rigorous analysis that informs business and technical decisions, enables us to monitor the success of decisions and, importantly, improve future decisions to maintain a competitive advantage.
To achieve all of these this, we need to revolutionise the way we process data, and we need a pioneer to help push the boundaries of Big Data technologies by:
* Forming the bridge across a multifunctional team of Developers, Testers and DevOps to ensure technical, automated and performance testing solutions are implemented to a high standard
* Developing and maintaining automated test frameworks to maintain an aggressive delivery cadence
* Provide input at inception to steer the approach to deliverables, looking at solutions through the eyes of a quality assurance professional.
* Incorporating testing artefacts, such as automated functional & technical tests into Continuous Delivery Pipelines
* Investigating and reproducing complex and technically challenging defects
* Advocating Agile principles and a philosophy of continuous improvement, with appropriate experience working in Scrum or Kanban methodologies
What experience you will need…
* Strong capability in writing and understanding development languages, particularly Java, Scala, Python and / or Ruby
* Hands on experience in development and testing with open-source Big Data technologies, including but not limited to - Hadoop, Spark and Kafka
* Well-versed in Big Data batch processing and streaming technologies
* Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases (such as Oracle)
* Fundamentally but most importantly, a passion for data
