About the role
As Lead Cloud Infrastructure Developer, you will take a leading technical role in the AWS workstream, enabling BP’s use of AWS public cloud services. Working within a self-organising team, you’ll play a leading part in continuously improving cloud infrastructure services by devising key metrics that measure improvements and enhance delivery. You’ll champion the use of quality products and services, becoming an advocate for the continual refinement of the team’s ‘definition of done’. What you’ll do
As a technical expert, the primary purpose of this role be to will ensure that core IaaS products and underpinning services such as access management, network, patching, monitoring and back up are automated to self-service for other internal and supplier support teams to access. You will also take responsibility for:
Changing management and code release from dev/test through production
Developing and implementing AWS, market provided or write our own integration technology and tooling to facilitate consumption of AWS services
Refining large goals and epics into value adding sprint iterations of products and services
Writing minimal design documentation sets
Working in a co-located agile team using two-week sprints
Leading the AWS team; code reviews/peer programming, design advice, agile coaching
Working closely with BP enterprise architects, AWS account architects, TAMs and other stakeholders to ensure BP get best use from the AWS technology stack
What you need
A BSc Computing and AWS Developer/DevOps/Architect accreditation
Working knowledge of AWS services, Agile and DevOps cultural practises
Expertise in Ruby and Python against AWS API, Lambda, Cloud Formation
Experience with Linux and Windows, Shell and Powershell scripting
Understanding of Splunk, Image build pipelines, GitLab and Automated testing
