My client is in need of a data migration lead to assist with a greenfield implementation of Milestone 7.

The Data Migration Lead will support the delivery of the change programme replacing the Finance HR and Payroll systems with an Enterprise Resource Planning system within Shropshire County Council. The Data Migration lead will take responsibility for identifying all relevant data sources and liaising with all relevant stakeholders.

Unit4 (Agresso) experience essential.

Objectives

* To identify all data sources for Enterprise Resource Planning, Operational finance HR and Payroll.

* To identify all paper and manual data sources that need to be considered as part of the data migration to the new system.

* To provide options for migration strategies along with supporting cost, risk, benefit information, for consideration.

* To document a data migration and testing strategy, obtain support and agreement from relevant stakeholders and ultimately from the project board.

* To subsequently define a detailed data migration plan and work with both internal teams and supplier resources to ensure that it is followed.

* To provide regular reports to the project manager, highlighting progress against plan and raising any relevant risks and issues on a regular basis.

* To ensure that adequate testing coverage is carried out following each round of data migration and provide a clear test report to the project manager after each stage of testing.

* To define or update the data retention and archiving policy and to ensure that system controls within the new Enterprise Resource Planning system are implemented to support this policy.

* To guide and advise operational teams on improving data quality in advance of migration.

* To assist in the production of relevant data quality reports to support data cleansing by operational teams.

* Develop approach for correcting any known errors that cannot be corrected in the current system

* Consider and provide options on transition approaches from a data migration perspective.

* Suggest transitional recording options if necessary to manage the cut over period to the new system.

Key responsibilities

* Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders

* Support the development of internal ICT staff to provide transfer of skills for future management

* Engage with other workstream managers to provide a consistent view and understanding of scheduling, delivery, resource planning and reporting.

* Proactively identify data migration threats and opportunities, review with the project manager and select the most appropriate resolution/mitigation.

* To manage tasks with minimum brief, research available options and effectively deliver solutions.

* Ensure Information Management risks are identified and mitigated

* Support transfer to BAU with clear plans for training and developing permanent staff ensuring transfer of skills and knowledge for relevant project areas

* Ensure clear documentation for data and records management policies are in place by close of project.

* Implement appropriate change control with stakeholders during the rollout to ensure future system and/or operational change is consistently managed.
