About the role

As Cloud Infrastructure Developer, you will take a technical role in the AWS workstream, enabling BP’s use of AWS public cloud services. Working within a self-organising team, you’ll play a part in continuously improving cloud infrastructure services by devising key metrics that measure improvements and enhance delivery. You’ll champion the use of quality products and services, becoming an advocate for the continual refinement of the team’s ‘definition of done’. What you’ll do

As a technical expert, the primary purpose of this role be to will ensure that core IaaS products and underpinning services such as access management, network, patching, monitoring and back up are automated to self-service for other internal and supplier support teams to access. You will also take responsibility for:

Hands on development, design and implementation of AWS, market provided or write our own integration technology and tooling to facilitate consumption of AWS services

Writing minimal documentation sets for other team members or customers

Working in a co-located agile team using two week sprints

Working closely with internal IT customers to ensure they can meet their goals for cloud consumption

Working with operations team to automate manual processes or meet operational acceptance criteria

What you need

BSc Computing

AWS Developer/DevOps/Architect accreditation

Linux/Windows operating system accreditation or equivalent experience

Experience in AWS services; cloud formation; IaaS, Storage, IAM, Networking

AWS PaaS/SaaS services

Understanding of Agile and DevOps cultural practises

Experience in Ruby and Python against AWS API, Lambda, Cloud Formation

Linux and Windows operating systems; Shell and PowerShell scripting

Chef Automate/Compliance/DSL

Splunk

Image build pipelines (Go CD)

GitLab

Automated testing
