Business Analyst - Point of Sale (POS), Financial Services, Automotive, Retail Consumer Finance

Duration: Initial 3 Months

Location: Milton Keynes

The successful Business Analyst will be working on the clients Future Point of Sale project.

The Business Analyst will forge close working relationships with the business and act as the 'bridge' between the business and IT. It will involve working closely with the business to gather, analyse and translate specific needs to produce clear and unambiguous user stories. The Business Analyst will identify organisational impacts, define and document business process changes, and work closely across the Digital Unit to manage these impacts. The role will also play a supporting role in the development and testing of activities undertaken by the Digital development team

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

* Deliver business requirements, business process design and functional design activities for digital programmes and projects.

* Enable effective business change, mentor others, and challenge business stakeholders to think differently about how the business delivers its digital products and services.

* Engage with the business through interviews and workshops to gather and document detailed and unambiguous business requirements.

* Produce high-quality business requirement specifications.

* Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications.

* Document 'To Be' business processes using ARIS and ensure that these deliver business requirements.

* Proactively engage the Digital BPI Lead to ensure that 'To Be' business processes are efficient and opportunities to address performance issues are not overlooked.

* Collaborate with the Digital BPI Lead to ensure that recommended changes fit into the end-to-end business process landscape and that upstream and downstream impacts are understood.

* Identify organisational impacts and work with the Digital BPI Lead to ensure impacts are managed.

* Support the Digital Product Owners during the start-up and planning phase to ensure digital projects and initiatives are set up for successful delivery.

* Provide work/effort estimates to the Product Owners as requested to ensure successful delivery of digital projects and initiatives.

* Provide support to the testing teams during the planning, preparation and execution of projects test phases.

* Provide support in the analysis and resolution of defects identified during project test phases, suggesting workarounds if appropriate.

* Support the Digital Change team to enable effective delivery of digital projects, programmes and change initiatives to the business, particularly around collaboration on knowledge transfer, stakeholder engagement and communications.

* Contribute to project meetings to ensure that potential impacts, risk, issues, gaps and assumptions are captured, analysed and understood.

* Provide support to the business during 'Go Live' weekends and project Early Life Support post implementation to ensure successful delivery of digital projects and initiatives.

* Ensure knowledge transfer to IT Support and other stakeholders where required.

* Provide feedback and learnings to Digital Product Owners for post implementation review

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

* Educated to degree level, or equivalent.

* Experience of delivering business requirements, business process design and functional design on digital change projects.

* Experience working in an agile project environment.

* Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence.

* Knowledge and experience of mapping complex business processes in ARIS.

* Knowledge and experience of working in a PRINCE2 environment.

* A good understanding of agile methodologies and an ability to apply these as appropriate.

* An understanding of digital technologies and architecture to a high level.

* Experience of supporting complex change and / or multi-disciplinary projects.

* Previous Financial Services, Automotive Finance or Retail Consumer Finance (B2C) experience.

* Demonstrated experience in managing people by providing direction, support, guidance and coaching.

SKILLS & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED

* A high level of business intelligence and strong analytical skills.

* Ability to understand business imperatives and requirements and translate these into functional and non-functional specifications / development user stories.

* Ability to deliver pragmatic business and operational design solutions that maximise benefits while achieving the desired business outcomes.

* Strong problem-solving skills: root cause analysis; engaging people from multiple business and IT teams where necessary; stakeholder management and strong communication to get to the root of a problem and ensure the correct priority and resources are available to resolve the issue.

* Ability to develop internal and external business relationships and using own knowledge, skills and experience to influence others' opinions and actions.

* Agile approach and ability to keep up with the pace of change, learn fast and adapt to the new conditions quickly and effectively.
