Spring Technology are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our leading clients.

Based in London on an initial 6 month contract the client are looking got an experienced Building Surveyor.

The successful candidate will be part of the clients Quantity Surveyor & Building Surveyor Team, this will be within the Professional Service Centre and will be working alongside architects, structural engineers, building services engineers, security designers and other surveyors.

Based in London, although with some overseas travel, the job holder will act as a quantity surveyor on selected projects. Ultimately, their role will be to assist and work with project managers to ensure each scheme is delivered professionally, to time, quality and budget.

The role will require working with the clients in-house designers, specialist suppliers and contractors to ensure that projects meet the design brief.

Role Responsibilities

*Provide project related cost advice, helping to ensure projects are delivered to recognised and acceptable standards, and on time and to budget.

*Support the delivery of small, medium and large scale construction projects, ensuring project expenditure is controlled within agreed budgets and administered in accordance with contract requirements.

*Engagement with stakeholders and contractors to ensure clear and coordinated project delivery, providing specialist quantity surveying advice where appropriate;

*Assist in the development of fee proposals for project related work.

*Prepare estimates, cost plans and tender documents as per procurement contract requirements.

*Provide regular reports on individual project progress, budgets and programmes;

*Undertake/support feasibility studies, either via desktop or visits to overseas posts.

*Develop successful customer and stakeholder relationships, evidenced by positive customer feedback and achievement of project KPIs.

Essential:

*Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) with appropriate post qualification experience;

*Proven track record in the provision of cost management services for all stages of a construction project;

*Knowledge of standard forms of construction contract, competent in the use of NEC contracts;

*Knowledge of current technical and Health & Safety legislation;

*Knowledge of RIBA plan of work and the technical information that is produced at each stage of a construction project;

*Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;

*Good financial management skills;

*Awareness of design software (e.g. AutoCAD, REVIT, etc.);

This role does require somebody willing and able to work overseas.

Successful Candidates must hold current SC Clearance or above, or be willing to go through the governmental Security check.
