Due to continued expansion, a UK based Scientific Company seeks a Graduate Software Engineer to join their dedicated team in their Edinburgh offices, offering you the chance to use your scientific and software skills.

We are keen to receive applications from Graduate Software Engineers with experience or training in developing scientific or technical applications in a Linux environment with C, C++ or Java Programming. A background in Physics / Astronomy is of particular interest as is any experience of control or real-time software, motion/servo control or LabView.

With a minimum of a 2.1 Bachelors Degree in Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or similar, the successful Software Engineers will design and implement software for control and data acquisition applications used by astronomical observatories and accelerator facilities. As a self-motivated and inventive individual, you should be excited at the opportunity to get involved with building large new scientific facilities.

Some International travel may be required to facilities in Europe and Chile as well as to offices within the UK. A fantastic career for bright Software Engineers with a keen interest in working within a scientific environment where you can contribute to the development of the world’s largest telescopes and synchrotron facilities.
