Product Designer / UI and UX Designer - B2B, UI / UX mix

Location: Hammersmith

Duration: Initial 3 Months

Oddschecker is the UK's #1 Odds Comparison site and is made up of a team of 70 motivated and hardworking individuals based in Hammersmith, Italy and Sydney.

Our team is split into a number of squads, aligned to our core business areas. This means that we have end-to-end teams, who take ownership of our products, working closely together to directly impact their success. The UK online gambling industry has been one of the fastest growing and technologically innovative sectors in recent years and Oddschecker is no different. We use cutting edge technology to hold our place at the centre of the industry, being a key player in client brand awareness and acquisition for bookmakers.

Established in 1999, we are now owned by a private equity group (CVC) who have big plans to grow the brand globally through significant investment. We are also aligned closely with one of Europe's biggest bookmakers, Sky Betting and Gaming, as part of our ownership by CVC.

What you'll do, as a contract Product Designer

Oddschecker are looking for an experienced, highly talented and engaging designer to join our Connect squad on a three day a week basis.

You should have experience designing UI across mobile and responsive web, also being proficient in wireframing, with UX experience of working to a user centric design methodology. You should also be confident in working with data analysts and market researchers.

We need a designer who can work without a prescriptive brief, proposing different creative routes, whilst showing a clear understanding of the needs of the Oddschecker products and our target audience. OC Connect is our B2B product, so the role will entail working with client feedback and their own brand guidelines. You'll work closely with our Product and Development departments and help them to shape the experience we provide to customers. A strong communicator, you're happy to present ideas, knowledge, and vision to the team and wider business, while remaining a champion of the customer.

You're accomplished in all the standard software packages that a designer needs to get the job done, with Sketch and inVision a must. You've got a varied toolbox to select from whether it be, sketching out ideas, or creating concepts, before executing first class collateral.

We need someone who can…

* Work closely with the Design Lead and the OC Connect squad, to create and iterate design solutions that meet customer and business requirements

* Cover all areas of design including user experience design, graphic design and user interface design as a key member of a multidisciplinary squad

* Be involved in small to large-scale projects from the earliest discovery stages through design, development, test, release and measurement

* Produce wire-frames, visual designs and prototypes for stakeholder and customer feedback

* Participate in regular innovation sessions, usability workshops, product reviews, and design sprints

* Go beyond the requirements of the creative brief and be willing to challenge assumptions

* Multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, results driven organisation

You should also be…

A strong team player and whilst a keen interest in sports and the betting industry is not essential, it would be nice to have.

Key skills and experience would ideally include:

* A portfolio you're proud of that demonstrates strong UX and UI design skills

* Experience of designing for mobile, tablet and desktop platforms

* You're a passionate designer with a track record of designing compelling user experiences with a comprehensive understanding of user behaviours,

* Evidence of creating and working to brand guidelines, but also willing to innovate on and challenge these

* Experience designing and working to deadlines at consumer-focused tech or media companies

* Experience of working in a B2B focused design role, responding to client briefs

* Excellent communicator, skilled in explaining and defending your work when required; showing confidence in your own abilities and ideas

* A conceptual thinker with an aptitude for sharing and learning new skills

* Experience working in a collaborative, small but agile team and working with developers to facilitate the implementation of your designs

* A hard-working 'can do' attitude with an appreciation of team camaraderie

* Knowledge of animations desirable
