Project manager with experience in application migrations across Data Centres required for initial 6 month contract period in Milton Keynes.

The applications are complex and there may be multiple applications linked and so understanding the process involved with application upgrades etc.

The group apps are cognos, readsoft, CRM Dynamics, SAP print servers, archive servers, biztalk/iconnect, IBM Netezza

The Packaging apps are manufacturing type applications i.e. CBS

The role will include stakeholder management with the business, understanding how to migrate an application to a new operating system, new version, the risks of that, the testing involved, the communication needed during the cut over, the support required afterwards.

This role is responsible for providing management to IT based projects in accordance with best practice, internal standards or frameworks such as PRINCE II and with international professional standards of skill, care and diligence. The individual will have strong IT background whilst having the ability to work across diverse organisations through communication and engagement with peers, senior managers and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities -

Effectively manage projects and accomplish project objectives within the constraints of cost, time, scope and quality.

Ensure project objectives are clear, useful and attainable.

Follow project management methodology and provide regular project reporting highlighting progress, status, risk and issue management etc.

Act as subject matter expert for Project Management enterprise.

Work closely with the Operations teams to ensure project activity is transitioned into an operational state.

Work closely with external partners to ensure delivery is aligned to project timescales

Host and run project steering meetings and providing effective stakeholder management.

Professional project/programme management accreditation (PRINCE 2, MSP or similar).

Ability for translating complex, technical subjects into clear, business-oriented language and have the ability to work across diverse organisations leading complex internal and external project teams.

Display a strong understanding of IT solutions and services

Ability to translate project needs into tasks or work-based packages.

Ability to assess resource requirements.

Possess strong interpersonal and influencing skills with good stakeholder engagement.

Able to manage delivery of objectives in line with agreed time scales

Able to manage relationships across the organisation at multiple levels.
