Your New role :-

Job Purpose:

A scrum master enables a scrum team to run a low-complexity agile development process that seamlessly aligns with business and technical needs. The Scrum Master is a key role within an Agile delivery team as it removes any impediments that obstruct a teams pursuit of its sprint goals and ultimately deliver a product that generates business benefits for one or several lines of business

Key Accountabilities

Time Allocation and Detailed Description and Example(s) 35%

- Initiative delivery (independently - with the ongoing assistance and coaching from an Agile coach or Senior Scrum Master - for simple initiatives or assisting for complex products/initiatives):

- Facilitate low complexity Agile initiatives from initiation through release, providing oversight to ensure alignment with our client Agile/Scrum practices, including but not limited to, project kick-off, sprint, release and deployment planning

- Accountable alongside the scrum team for the achievement of release objectives and results that meet LOB stakeholders needs and expectations

- Manage risks to delivery 35%

- Team activity facilitation: Facilitates (small team, low complexity product) or assist a senior scrum master with (larger teams, higher complexity) the following tasks:

- Facilitate discussion leading to collective decision-making, goal setting and conflict resolution within the team

- Remove impediments to delivery success through the proactive management of external dependencies and simple team problem-solving, considering options and selecting solutions; escalate issues through business and/or IT channels where necessary

- Accountable for creating and maintaining the appropriate vehicles for open communication within the scrum team (e.g. tracker boards) to create a trusting and safe team environment

- Manage team performance to promote joint accountability for results and solve productivity issues

- Facilitating and engaging in business analysis, user experience and technical conversations across platforms

- Navigating and identifying shared IT services required by the team in the delivery of its objectives 30%

- Cross-functional

- Communication: Communicate cross functionally, ensuring transparency of progress and outcomes; Report team progress and accomplishment up and across;

- Facilitates status updates, product demos and retrospectives

Level of Responsibility and Decision Making

o Enables key management decisions required for the successful delivery of initiatives (including budget and resource allocation)

o Enables any decision required to ensure the agile management framework is thoroughly applied

o Improve Agile work practices to enhance team effectiveness and productivity within the Team

o Contribute ideas for improvement in processes and outcomes

o Facilitates initiatives of small-to-medium size scale and complexity

o Accountable for producing outcomes with limited control over the resources executing the work

o Broad spectrum of soft skills required for success and requires a continuous pursuit of knowledge and practice

o Needs to adapt interpersonal style to highly diverse individuals and groups in a range of situations

o Inability to effectively play role will result in loss of business benefits commensurate to size of project

Your Skills and Qualifications :-

Essential Skills :-

Capabilities and Skills

- 3-5 years of experience as a Scrum Master

- 3 years of experience in software development and/or project management and/or business (system) analysis

- Exposure to Project / Program delivery in Agile and/or Waterfall environment

- Practical experience with any of the key disciplines required in agile delivery - such as software development or business (system) analysis

- Ability to apply Agile Management Framework and well documented Agile techniques (User Stories, Burndown techniques, Acceptance Test Driven Development, Continuous testing, etc.); SAFe experience is an asset

- Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience

- Certified Agile Practitioner or equivalent
