Proteus Europe is searching for a Dutch Speaking Java Programme Developer for our client based in Brussels, Belgium
Our Client :-
Our client is a Flemish ministry which focuses on Persons with Disabilities covering such areas as applications for aid, allowances, parking permits, care and support etc.
Your New role :-
Description Various projects are running within the VAPH. Our applications are used by persons with disabilities, care institutions, and inspection. We also do automatic data exchange with other parties. Our applications use a modern stack of technologies (Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Thymeleaf, REST services, Agile Methodology, etc)
Technical context We are looking for someone with:
- Demonstrable training with certification or equivalent through experience in Java
- Minimum 3 years experience in the programming language
- Experience in making technical analyzes
The following roles and responsibilities must be included:
-Development and maintenance of web applications in Spring - Thymeleaf
-Develop and maintain backend code with Spring - Hibernate
- Maintain and write tests and monitor code quality
- Thinking about architectural improvements to the application stack
Business context The VAPH is a Flemish agency with a great social commitment. The IT-Team of the VAPH ensures an optimal elaboration of the guidelines and legislation on the theme of Persons with a Disability.

Essential Skills :-
Demonstrable experience with developing in Java (3.00 years)
Demonstrable experience with software development (3.00 years)
Demonstrable experience with Hibernate (3.00 years)
Demonstrable experience with Spring (3.00 years)
Demonstrated experience with REST (3.00 years)
Experience working in an Agile environment
Interested in Open Source Software
Perfect oral and written command of Dutch
