Summary

Associate Product Manager is the first step for you if you want to become a Product Manager, but may or may not have previous product management experience. The Associate Product Manager role will enable you to learn the essential skills required to manage your first product at Tesco.

Working on the UK GHS and IGHS customer experience (front-end), this is a key role within the product management team where you will work with a number of stakeholders, working collaboratively to deliver on objectives and key results.

You will be working directly with an engineering team that sit in London, Bengaluru and Welwyn Garden City.

Main Responsibilities

* Demonstrate all of the features of my product

* Measure the value delivered by my product and KPIs that I need to work towards to improve.

* Assess new product opportunities (gather ideas, research, analyse, refine and prioritise new requirements)

* Run/execute experiments against the defined hypotheses to help in gathering enough data to drive key decisions

* Formulate and present the future plans/ roadmap for my Product area

* Build and maintain a "well groomed" product backlog including features, bug-fixes and Tech debt, and stack rank those in terms of the business priorities

* Document and explain new requirements to the engineering team using user stories, personas and acceptance test criteria

* Prioritize and execute the development of requirements/ features by working with various functional teams like Design, Development/Engineering, Test, Programme Management, etc

* Handle and communicate product issues arising out of run/ customer support

* Plan and self-organize my work in line with the team plan and priorities

* Ensure all stakeholders have a common/ shared understanding of the work being done and the value that is expected from of the outcome

Ideal Candidate

* A methodical and analytical approach, great problem-solving skills and can provide logical answers to complex problems

* Attitude and the aptitude to learn new product area/domain quickly

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and clearly articulate concepts, ideas and requirements

* Great presentation skills and can present ideas/ thoughts/ plans with senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence

* Strong persuasion skills to influence others

* Team player who could work collaboratively with other members of the team

* Interest and enthusiasm for Tesco and for the product management role

* A theoretical knowledge of Product management.

* Understanding of a typical Software Development Lifecycle and how software products are built

* Prior experience in developing/ managing a product (optional)
