Due to continued growth and new contracts, this Microsoft Cloud Specialist is currently recruiting for a 2nd line field IT support engineer to work out of their Edinburgh office.

This exciting opportunity will give you the chance to work with a company which utilises cutting edge technologies, to deliver projects for some of the industry's leading companies.

Their customers range from small-medium businesses to multi-national corporations. They work in the areas of application, platform and infrastructure to deliver hosting, integration and consolidation solutions. They focus on everything from disaster recovery to virtualisation, private clouds to hosted applications, self-managed services to fully managed enterprise environments.

This is a technical position for which you will need a degree in IT, computing science or a technology-related subject or have 4 years' industry experience. This role will be based from their Edinburgh office though it will require 'on-site' client work which can be anywhere in the Central Belt. There is regular project work which may require occasionally working further afield.

Key Responsibilities:

- Providing remote support to end users at all levels of our customers organisations

- Experience with desktops and servers.

- Good knowledge of Active Directory, security policies and DNS.

- Networking knowledge of firewalls, switches, routers and security systems.

- Resolve issues with internal and remote users and escalating problems when necessary.

- Communicate with users on the status of support cases.

- Production of documentation and user guides.

- Provide application support e.g. MS Office, Outlook.

- Learn and provide support for business applications.

- Manage access to network resources such as printers and network drives.

- Create and update FAQs databases and a knowledge base.

- Any MS SQL /Exchange skills are an advantage.

Key Requirements:

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Have worked in an outsourced role or client facing role

- Cloud Services - Setup/configure and Administer - O365, Azure, AWS etc

- MS Exchange.

- Any MS SQL skills are an advantage.

- Reliable self-starter.

- Ability to think through problems.

- Build resilient solutions.

- Good documentation skills.

- Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

- Degree in an IT related subject with MCITP / MCSE / VCP qualifications.

- Practical business experience working with VMWare or Hyper-V.

- Have a working knowledge of ITIL

- VoIP Solutions

- 3+ years' experience within a 2nd line support role.
