Data Manager/Data Architect - Hadoop (SC Cleared)

We're expanding our team delivering a big data platform for a fast tempo operational capability. If you have a solid big data background and an enthusiasm for technology, we'd love you to join us.

We are looking for a Data Architect and a Data Manager who will be responsible for the through life management of data, including design, audit, knowledge transfer and technical authority on all aspects of operational delivery.

Requirements - DATA ARCHITECT

- Primary point of contact for all Data related management issues.

- Technical Authority for the design of Interface Control Documents, data flow and management of data within the system

- Technical lead for the completion of Data Management related User Acceptance Tests (UAT) within Model Office, ensuring that knowledge transfer is carried out on completion of Sprints and any issues highlighted to the Product Owner.

REQUIREMENTS - DATA MANAGER

- Monitoring of performance of all ingest, storage, transformation and data management components.

- Identification of performance anomalies and bottlenecks; submitting defects and feature requests to the Data Architect.

- Identification and prediction of requirements to modify the scaling of the systems in-line with operational usage (e.g. storage, processing power, data transport).

MADATORY

- Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate with the varying stakeholders, namely MOD, other MOD service providers, and data source owners.

- Comprehensive working knowledge and experience of Big Data Solutions namely Hadoop

DESIRABLE

- Experience of working in an Agile project delivery environment.

- Comprehensive working knowledge and experience of Apache NiFi technology.
