Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Swindon

Remuneration: £30,000 to £45,000 + Package

JOB PURPOSE

Working with the Smart Applications Manager and the Director of Technology you will work with external partners and companies to manage the design, development, production and delivery of new hardware and firmware to the IoT team for new and existing clients.

Your Daily duties:

Programming in C to write firmware for their products

Driving the chip to control their products systems

Working on a daily basis with the development team in the test lab and testing hardware to generate applications

They are a hardware centric company moving more to application development and writing software to hardware.

Required Skills and Abilities

Understanding of C, C++ or C#

Experience of writing firmware

Experience with Wireless comms such as Ethernet, Zigbee or I/O systems or BLE

Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Desired skills:

Understanding preferred but not necessary in the following development languages:

- Javascript and a common Javascript Framework such as jQuery

- Java.

Experience of working in an agile/scrum environment. Experience of Jira would be advantageous.
