IT Infrastructure and Security Engineer

Market leading Software Company in Sutton Coldfield is looking for a driven IT Infrastructure and Security Engineer to join their growing IT team at their Head Office.

The successful candidate will strengthen business-critical Infrastructure and Security Platforms with other Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

*Managing the systems, servers and other network components together with telecoms used to deliver our internet-based 24 / 7 service.

*Resolve problems reported by end users for local and wide area networks, personal computers, networking equipment (switches, routers, etc.).

*Maintain documentation for the network, telecommunications and telephone systems.

*Ensuring the resilience of the service is maintained at all times.

*Take pride in your work and strive to deliver the best you can.

*Maintain accurate notes in the ticket system.

*Ensure you escalate problems and Risk to the Team Lead.

Key Skills and Experience:

*Experience within industry in a similar role, including some exposure and/or knowledge of high-availability systems.

*Troubleshooting skills, with an ability to demonstrate this as part of the recruitment process.

*Ability to carry out builds and setup Active Directory and other accounts.

*High level of attention to detail with a methodical, patient approach.

*Some Networking theory including some management.

*Some basic administration of Core Microsoft products on-premise (Windows Server, SQL Server, Exchange) and also their cloud based offerings (Office 365, Azure, and their Cloud based products).

*Some exposure to Citrix products and technologies.

*An understanding of security and following processes.

*Some exposure to servers and basic administration.

*Ability and exposure of using a ticket system and accurate entries into the tickets.

*A good team player with the ability to liaise effectively with work colleagues with a professional approach, especially when under pressure.

This is a great opportunity to join an established, yet growing organisation during an exciting period of change. The salary on offer for this role is £22,000-£23,000 plus an excellent benefits package.
