A leading independent provider of energy projects across the United Kingdom is seeking an Operations Manager to join an exciting team of professionals as it continues its impressive growth. Playing an integral role in the operation of multi-MW energy centres across the country, this is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive organisation.

Scope of work

The Operations Manager will play an integral role in the operation of state-of-the-art power generation facilities across the United Kingdom. Holding full responsibility for ensuring availability across a portfolio of operational assets, you will manage the operational run times of engines, implementing and improving maintenance programmes as well as managing sub-suppliers of equipment. It is critical that you ensure all operational activity carried out on each site meets health and safety regulations; part of the responsibilities for this role will involve signing off risk assessments, method statements and permits to work.

Working closely with other internal departments within the organisation, you will look to maximise the financial performance of engines/assets and provide input on new project designs to simplify long-term maintenance. Furthermore, you will analyse individual site data from Building Management Systems and Engine Controls to identify improvements and put effective preventative maintenance plans in place. This is a hands-on position that will require you, as the Operations Manager, to utilise your technical engineering background in order to take ownership of engineering problems, analyse and identify causes and ultimately devise effective solutions.

Based from their headquarters in the centre of London, you will spend approximately 1-2 nights a week away from home as you visit operational sites around the United Kingdom, ensuring they remain fully operational in-line with company targets and health and safety regulations. Furthermore, you will be involved in the construction and commissioning of new sites with regular visits to these facilities encouraged in order to familiarise yourself before they come under your portfolio and remit of responsibility. It is therefore essential that you hold a full driving licence and are able to travel regularly across the United Kingdom.

You will:

* Possess a technical engineering background within electrical or mechanical engineering

* Have a record working in Operations, Engineering or Project Management positions within the power generation industry

* Be able to adapt to new environments and methods of working

* Have the ability to work both individually and in a team

* Hold a full UK driving licence, in order to travel across the United Kingdom visiting operational facilities.

* Be comfortable working away for approximately 1-2 nights a week

* Be able to commute into their central London facility at least 3-days a week
