BI Business Analyst (OBIEE/SQL/PowerBI)

County Durham

12 month FTC (Fixed term contract)

£24K - £32K

My client, based in the County Durham area are seeking a BI Business Analyst to join in an initial 12 month fixed term contract basis, with the opportunity to extend or go permanent.

Purpose of the role:

*Support the Head of BI & Data in developing and delivering a Business Intelligence Centre of Excellence and related capabilities

*Work across departments & functions to deliver insight into company performance by generating and distributing a range of operational & strategic reporting and analytics.

*Support the on-going integrity of data, driving awareness of the available BI capability at the company building relationships with key stakeholders.

General Responsibilities

*Support delivery of organisation-wide systems implementation programme, requiring the development of a full catalogue of management and operational reports

*Work with key stakeholders to determine day 1 / day 100 priorities, scheduling own work to deliver reporting catalogue to this schedule

*Service operational, standard & analytical reporting, data management and supporting business users to deliver ad-hoc analysis

*Own central data and maintain controls and processes to ensure the integrity of data sources is maintained

*Continually assess opportunities to consolidate, cleanse and simplify data collection and reporting

*Perform root cause analysis where requested to understand customer problems and allow solutions to be built

*Help deliver the group strategy for data management, including Data Quality, Data Governance and related data processes.

*Engage with appointed business data owners to identify opportunities and priorities for improvement actions across data and BI

*Support best practice in data management by adopting common standards and policies

*Provide on-going support to key business users and the wider BI team.

*Monitor analytics and metrics results and report to Head of BI

Key skills and abilities required for the role

*OBIEE/PowerBI

*Familiarity with database management systems such as Oracle & MS SQL Server and other information system technologies

*T-SQL or PL/SQL

*MS Office

*Strong stakeholder management capabilities; up to senior level.

*Excellent analytical skills

*Good communication skills

*A good understanding of emergent technologies within BI and Data disciplines
