My client operate within the manufacture and supplier sector and are further growing their development team because they have secured more contracts with clients in the retail and transport sector, so their profits continuously increased.

They are based in central Edinburgh near the Old Town and have the highest staff retention rate locally, out of the clients that I work with - once people join they don't really want to leave! Due to their success in winning contracts they expanded internationally into Australia and their next plan is to set up camp in America too!

Not only would you get to work with a really personable, friendly and close knit team of 7, you will work closely with the CTO, who has over 22 years of experience and expertise to pass onto you! This will make you very successful in this team particularly and more marketable in the future so that you can really take your career to the next level in a senior developer role!

The technology you will be experienced with to be a good fit for this position of Java Web Developer is:

* Java

* Hibernate

* HTML/CSS/JavaScript and SQL

In addition, if you have any experience with RESTful web API design, PostgreSQL, Windows, JAX-RS, Typescript or AWS this will be very beneficial. If not, you will get the opportunity to learn these too! My client are looking to hire someone who is eager to learn new skills and progress your career.

As a snap shot, to begin with you will get the chance to develop an application for viewing and organizing multimedia information. You will gain responsibility for implementing a range of new features, as well as improving the architecture, performance and scalability of this existing product.

This team of 7 operate to Agile methodologies within scrum covering a wide range of projects and technologies so going forward you will get the chance to work on Greenfield projects, which means each week will exciting.

My client is based in central Edinburgh, a 10 minute walk from the train station and close to famous attractions. Being so close to Edinburgh Old Town you will find yourself with plenty to do!
