This is an opportunity to join one of the UK's leading cyber security managed services providers. As part of their rapid growth, this company is expanding its Security Operations Centre (SOC) team, with permanent roles for office-based security engineers and senior engineers.

This is a great opportunity to establish, or further develop, your career in cyber security. Their SOC engineers are supported through a range of industry certifications and internal training. Future progression can be either into designing their bespoke technology solutions, conducting breach investigations, or moving into a consulting role (often as part of the penetration testing team).

As they run 24/7/365 SOC facilities in West Yorkshire and Brisbane, Australia, technical engineer roles involve 7 days shift patterns (usually involving one weekend in four), but do not require night shifts. They manage cyber security protection, such as firewalls, IPS and WAF devices, and they conduct monitoring and alerting through logging and IDS systems.

They also respond to incidents and involvement in these response teams can involve occasional extended hours and on-site client investigations. Their engineers also have the opportunity to undertake 4-6 month placements in their mirror facility in Brisbane, should they wish.

You may already be working in a similar role, or wish to move into this exciting growing area. Either way, you should have real in-depth technical understanding of networking protocols and security fundamentals, and a genuine interest in the latest security threats, developments and news. As their own technologies are Linux-based, experience in this area will be an advantage.

Formal qualifications, such as RHCE, CCNA, CISSP, and OSCP may be beneficial, but are not a requirement for applicants.

Their team members benefit from 25 days' holiday, plus bank holidays, expenses, pension, private healthcare, and optional company car. Salary packages range from £24,000 to £40,000 depending on skills and experience.
