Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer / Architect - Cambridge - to £60k pa

Our International client based in Cambridge is looking for an experienced Cloud Systems Infrastructure Engineer / Architect to join their expanding International IT team.

The role is a pivotal lead function to drive the business strategy to leverage Cloud Services and to deliver the key IT Strategic Plan whilst improving capability and capacity within the infrastructure team.

Reporting to the Global Head of IT & Infrastructure, this role forms an integral part of an international IT Team and is crucial to the successful delivery of the Corporate strategy.Fundamentally this role is to drive the definition and delivery of the technical solution for the company's Cloud strategy, to determine what good looks like and how to deliver the solution within business constraints.

The role requires a deep technical background with a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of the technicalities. The appointee will be able to inspire a mixed and highly competent team to achieve high levels of networking and system engineering excellence.

This role will support and contribute actively to all aspects of systems architectural design and development across the company, whether delivered by their infrastructure team or by external partners. The role is a lead technical position where leadership, mentoring and support of junior staff are equally as important as highly developed technical capabilities.

Working hands-on, at all levels from concept though design to full service and post implementations support & configuration, the individual will architect, manage, and deliver new infrastructure projects in addition to care and maintenance activities for existing systems in collaboration with the Senior team members within the Technical Architect team.

The role requires the continuing review, development and definition of processes to ensure that the future work programme is delivered to an excellent quality standard, whilst ensuring that operational services levels are maintained.

This role requires a wide range of technical skills in Systems, Infrastructure, Security, Telephony and Network design cross platform and team support, you will have extensive cloud, security, network and system experience across multiple platforms.

It is expected that you will have the following:.6+ years experience supporting multiple Microsoft platforms including Azure, Office365, the Office suite of applications, Active Directory, Group Policy, OutlookExchange and Lync and understanding of the full Microsoft Stack.

6+ years experience of infrastructure design: private, hybrid and public cloud, networking, virtualisation, security and storage.

Deep knowledge and experience of security systems, threat mitigation and solutions.

Strong customer service ethos and interpersonal skills.
