Front-End Web Developer

Leeds, West Yorkshire

£20,000 - £30,000 DOE Plus Benefits including Pension & Healthcare Cash Plan

Our client is a leading provider of retirement solutions for the over 50s. Since 2004 they have been helping current, and soon-to-be, retirees make the most of their finances, enabling them to enjoy their retirement.

Their small(ish) Web Development Team is based between two sites in the beautiful, if occasionally damp, West Yorkshire and they are looking to recruit a Front-End Web Developer to join their happy and talented band of geeks.

Your primary role will be to work with our client’s Digital Design Lead and Front-End Development Team to deliver responsive web and email content. Our client follows a qualitative and quantitative "test and learn" model to guide their UI decisions and are constantly looking to refine and improve the user experience across the 15 or so sites that they manage.

As well as being an HTML and CSS wrangler, our client’s Front-End Web Developer will ideally have exposure to Twig, Sass and Gulp and will enjoy helping them refactor their front-end end codebase, moving it to a more modular structure, to reduce delivery times and increase quality and consistency. You might enjoy arguing about optimal template structures! You’ll also get involved in creating wireframes and prototypes and trying them out with user testing.

In addition to their web content, our client sends over 2M emails per month, so some experience of email template design would be beneficial though not essential.
