Infrastructure Engineer - Birmingham- Permanent - £35,000

I am looking for an extremely competent Infrastructure Engineer who would like to join a rapidly growing business in Birmingham who can offer excellent development and career opportunities.
Role and Responsibilities:
?Configuration and overall responsibility for the continual running and maintenance of the UK IT server infrastructure virtual environment.
?Manage development plans and process for upgrades, DR planning and maintenance plans for the IT systems.
?Design and scope new IT Solutions to meet business needs and see these projects through the development and implementation cycle to completion.
?Mentor and train the 2nd and 1st line support teams on new systems and provide escalation line for user support.
?Maintain/improve and steer strategic IT processes and policies.
?Support the most critical systems within the company and take responsibility for their stability and uptime and be able to recommend improvement and identify issues.
?Troubleshoot critical Server and system issues and communicate with 3rd parties.
?Responsible for the continued improvement and development of IT systems and network infrastructure.
Ideal candidate will be someone who has experience being the last point of escalation for business critical IT issues and be able to think quickly and deal with users in a crisis and provide resolutions and work around serious issues, will need a solid understanding of all in house systems and how they function and be able to work in a dynamic ever changing environment.
Essential Skills
?Confident leader and ability to take control of projects.
?Certification to a degree level or equivalent industry experience.
?Experience managing VOIP and telephony solutions, ideally for call centre environments, in detail knowledge about SIP and telephony management platforms.
?Confident telephone manner and comfortable speaking to 3rd party suppliers.
?Understanding of IT Security policies, principals and best practice.
?Ability to design, test and build critical IT solutions, focus on IT virtual and HA server topologies.
?Confident configuring Windows 2012 and other server OS's.
?Expertise in Configuration file share systems, Hyper-V, ESXi and other clustering technologies.
?A high level of technical knowledge is required, in areas such as virtual environments, domain management and systems deployment.
?Experience managing an exchange cluster and inter domain trusts and forests.
?Experience managing switches, routers, firewall and familiar with network fundamentals such as TCP/IP, trunking and VPN.
?Comfortable with Layer 3 networking principals, Firewall technologies such as HA (VRRP, NSRP)
